Brisbane pop royalty Custard only perform at special occasions – and they don’t come much bigger than the Meredith Music Festival’s 20th birthday in December.
The band reformed after 10 years for the Powderfinger-curated Q150 show in Queensland last year, but haven’t played again since (more here). They’re part of a formidable local contingent that includes the already announced Dirty Three, as well as Little Red, C.W Stoneking, Sally Seltmann, The Dead Salesman (duo), the Joel Silbersher-fronted Hoss, Rat Vs Possum, Cloud Control and festival perennials Combo La Revelacion and the City Of Ballarat Brass Band. No Washington? Well, there’s always round two.
As for the internationals, The Fall and Broadcast will most likely give M+N readers conniptions. There’s also Washed Out, Girls, Clipse, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Reverend Horton Heat, Pantha Du Prince, El Guincho, The Heatwave, Those Darlins, DJ Harvey & DJ Garth, The Field and Jeff the Brotherhood. Crowded House’s Neil Finn will play the “Paul Kelly slot” on the Saturday night as the sun sets on the Nolan family farm.

yeah there's not much on here that i haven't seen already in the last year or so. I mean I love dirty three, salesmen and custard but.
if there was a new dirty three album i might be more excited. and none of the other local acts really excite me that much.
