Meredith 2010 Ballots Opens

All killer, no filler, all quality, no follity. This is what organisers have planned for the line-up of the Meredith Music Festival, which is celebrating 20 years in December, but they're not giving any clues away just yet.
The subscriber ticket ballot opened at 9am this morning for the festival, which will be taking place at the Supernatural Amphitheatre on the Nolan Farm in Victoria from December 10-12.
To mark 20 years, organisers have unveiled an online exhibition that includes bite-sized episodes of Rob McCafferty’s award-winning doco A Weekend In The Country; a 650-photo pictorial history; a photo library of Meredith-goers from throughout the years; and some previously unseen photos of Meredith moments from the ’90s and beyond. Auntie is also toiling with a new service called “The Rochester” for those too lazy to pitch a tent. Here’s how it works: “You will be able to hire a private canvas room for two (some call it a tent) in advance and then arrive at the festival and drive straight to your reserved car space near your already-set up and furnished room (OK its a tent, but a good one).”

this whole registering for the ballot before you even know the line up caper seems eerily similar to metro bogans who buy big day out tickets regardless of the line up...
Except you don't have to buy tickets when the ballot is drawn and you don't like the bands.

They have these 'rooms' in Italy. A trundle bed in a tent with a wood floor. They are good aside from the FUCKING BUGS that fly in through the gaps.
Panda Bear? Beach House? C'mon, seriously? Rather than see the same old boring ass bands tour time and time and again, lets see who can come up with an original suggestion for Meredith and Golden Planes.
A band that hasn't toured here before but should, a band no ones seen before but have always wanted to, but more importantly, a band not dictated by popular culture and JJJ.

Actually you're right, it was a sound proofing barrier type thing that I put up in a lame attempt at sound proofing against sexy noises. Whether they were coming from King_Rat's side of the wall or mine is up for discussion.
