The Paradise Motel have announced a national tour in September/October in support of their latest album Australian Ghost Story.
The band recently returned after a 10-year hiatus, playing a handful of sold-out shows in Melbourne including a “graceful” first outing at The Toff In Town in March, as well as a residency at the Northcote Social Club in April. They were set to launch the album at The Thornbury Theatre in July, but had to cancel due to unforeseen “personal circumstances”.
Kicking off at the Clarendon Guest House in Katoomba on September 24, the tour will take in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Hepburn Springs and Hobart (where the band formed in 1994). They will perform Australian Ghost Story – based on the events surrounding the disappearance of Azaria Chamberlain in 1980 – in its entirety, along with select favourites from their previous releases.
Supports by Sianna Lee, the ex-Love Outside Andromeda singer, who recently released an emotionally charged album of her own.
Australian Ghost Story is out now through Left Over Life To Kill Records/Inertia.
