Wagons To Support Kasabian!?

Related: Wagons.
The Thin Kids and Kate Nash may have seemed like an improbable pairing, but that’s like Wolfmother and Led Zep compared to Wagons and Kasabian.
The Melbourne country-rock kingpins, who have supported the likes of The Blind Boys of Alabama and The Violet Femmes in the past, have just been confirmed as main support for one of the UK’s biggest acts as they begin their five-date national tour at Melbourne's Festival Hall tonight (July 23). Other supports include Little Red in Sydney and Brisbane, The Scotch Of Saint James in Perth and Will Stoker and the Embers in Adelaide.
Following the Kasabian show, Wagons will go straight back to working on album number five, the follow-up to the M+N Users Poll-topping The Rise and Fall of Goodtown, which they hope to release early next year. Frontman Henry Wagons will also be touring the US in September, taking in 12 major cities including Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco and Chicago, as well as festival dates in Nashville, Cincinnati and Portland.

Bizzaro World.
Late notice.
Not enuff pun in the title!?
I slept in the Tudor Village once.
Talk of Wagons always makes me hungry for wagon wheels. Mmm marshmellow jam chocolate biscuity goodness...
coulda swore the Wagons shows at Corner were billed as last in Oz this year...
Should've used an interrobang.
A younger and more relevant band should have landed that slot... Taking nothing away from Wagons (I love 'em) but this is too weird.
Anyone know how the Kasabian shows are selling? It feels like the venues are overly ambitious for their level of popularity in Australia, but maybe I'm out of touch with the kids.
Mission Control should have got it.
@ mud
They were here only just a few months ago too. They're HUGE.
I went to their show at The Palace and was surprised to see so man older people.
They're playing the Riverstage in Brisbane on Sunday, which holds 9,000. Shall be interesting to see how many they pull.
I don't even know what this fucking band sound like. I'm not willing to find out either.
Club Foot is a good tune.
The 'Football Hero' video for 'Underdog' is pretty good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XjwoVqM_qE
And 'Vlad The Impaler' has a badass bassline: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM5YDI7ttME
Awesome, why would any punter want to see a Kasabian clone supporting?
Kasabian will have more impact when they come on after something a bit more low key
