“The kind of track Brian Wilson would've written if he took ecstasy and hung out in ’60s London instead of California.”
This is how Cut Copy describe their latest track, ‘Where I’m Going’, which they’ve offered as a free download to fans. The song, which will be released next month as a strictly limited one-sided etched 7”, can be downloaded via the band’s website. And if it’s any indication, their as-yet-untitled third album (“due in early 2010” – although we think they mean “2011”) is shaping up to be quite a sun-drenched departure. Recorded in a warehouse in Melbourne, the album will be mixed by Ben Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective) in Atlanta in August.
Cut Copy have also announced a world tour, which will kick off at the Super Bock Super Rock festival in Portugal on July 16. They won’t return to Australia until September’s Parklife Festival, which will take place in the Gold Coast, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. For tickets click here.
