Sydney’s Richard In Your Mind have added two more dates to their upcoming tour in support of new album My Volcano (out June 26 through Rice Is Nice). In addition to shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, the band will be performing at the Alley Cat in Hobart on July 10 and at the Clarendon Guest House in Katoomba, NSW, on August 7. Full dates here. RIYM recently completed work on a clip to new single ‘Candelabra’. It was conceptualised and shot by Brent Griffin (aka SPOD) at his “Magic Castle” studio in Marrickville, Sydney. Brisbane “psychedelic family band” Blank Realm will play their first shows in Melbourne for two years in July. They will perform at Sunshine Grease on July 2 with Superstar, Interzone (featuring members of Fabulous Diamonds and Chrome Dome) and Lakes; at Yah Yah’s with Bum Creek, No Zu and Table Mountain on July 3; and an afternoon show at The Empress with Space Cactus, Table Mountain and Loamlines on July 4. The shows are in support of the band’s new CD-R, Deja What?, which is out through Albert's Basement. In other news, the band are currently recording material for the follow-up to this year’s vinyl release, Heatless Ark. It will be out later this year.
Before heading off on a tri-state tour in support of new single 'International Son'/'Sexy Polizei', Black Cab will perform a “sneaky show” at the newly reopened Tote Hotel this Friday (June 25). Supports by Ron Peno’s new band RSVP and The Harry Howard Band featuring Dave Graney and Clare Moore. Tickets to Black Cab's forthcoming July tour, which includes their first ever Brisbane show, are reportedly selling fast. More details here.
