NOTV Star In Short Film

News posted Monday, June 21 2010 at 11:00 AM.

Lucy Phelan and Matthew Hopkins from Sydney’s Naked On The Vague (NOTV) will begin work on a new short film this week. The pair are the stars of Twelve Dark Noons, a collaboration between NOTV, New York film-makers Primitive Future Films and US labels Sacred Bones and Night People.

Inspired by NOTV’s ‘Clock Of Twelves’, a track off an upcoming 12” EP, the clip is described as “a psychedelic movie for the apocalypse in 12 chapters”. It’ll be directed by Jacqueline Castel of Future Primitive Films, who has made film clips for the likes of Zola Jesus, Blank Dogs, Gary War and Moon Duo. Shooting begins this Thursday in the Lake Mungo area in south-western NSW.

To help fund the project, limited-edition records, cassettes, DVDs, hand silk-screened artwork, posters and T-shirts will be available as pledges through the Kickstarter website.

In other NOTV news, the band are about to embark on an east-coast tour in support of new album, Heaps of Nothing. It’s out now through US label Siltbreeze. Dates below.
