Beaches Back With Two Shows

After a relative period of local inactivity, Melbourne’s Beaches will play two shows in their hometown this month.

The five-piece, who recently returned from a US tour, will headline a 3CR benefit show tomorrow (June 5) at the John Curtin Bandroom with supports from New War, Rubbish Throwers and Interzone, a new “monster combo” featuring members of Fabulous Diamonds, Chrome Dome and Repairs. The show is in aid of Two To The Valley, a long-standing show on 3CR, presented by Alison Bolger (Beaches, Panel of Judges), Greg Wadley (Hi God People), David Nichols (Cannanes) and Duncan Blachford (Snawklor, Miniature Submarines).

Later this month, they’ll be launching a freshly-pressed 7” at The Workers Club on June 25. The band are also working on new songs for a forthcoming LP, the follow-up to 2008’s Australian Music Prize-nominated *Beaches, which they hope to record later in the year.
