Save for a residency at Melbourne’s Edinburgh Castle last October, all’s been pretty quiet in the Machine Translations camp. But according to the latest missive from main man J.Walker, they’ll be returning to the stage next month with a new single to boot.
Walker, along with a “playful and colourful new band”, will launch new single ‘Telepathic Head’ at The Vanguard in Sydney on June 5 and at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on June 16. The single is a precursor to the band’s as-yet-untitled eighth album, the follow-up to 2007’s Seven Seven. “Work is progressing nicely on the rest of the new album which, God, Allah and shining potatoes willing, will be out later in the year,” said Walker via a note posted on the Machine Translations website.
He’s has also been working on the soundtrack for local independent film KIN, which is due for release midyear.
