It’s been more than 30 years, but legendary Aus punk band X will finally head out on their first US tour next month.
Unperturbed by frontman Steve Lucas’ recent run-in with airline staff, X will jet off to the US after a farewell show with The UV Race at Melbourne’s Ding Dong Lounge on May 7.
The landmark tour will begin in Washington on May 16, and include stops in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and Phoenix, before winding up in Oakland, California, on June 5. Full dates here.
While the band have released some of the most influential albums in Australian punk rock history, including the recently re-released X-Aspirations and At Home With You, they haven’t enjoyed the same following in the US where they’ve been outshined by their Los Angeles namesakes. Their current line-up consists of founding member Lucas, Kim Volkman on bass and Bill Walsh (ex-The Cosmic Psychos) on drums.
Tickets for the Melbourne show are $13.30. For more information click here.
UPDATE: X have just announced a Sydney farewell performance at The Sandringham Hotel in Newtown on May 14. The Holy Soul and Platinum Brunette in support. Tickets here.

think dean muller has been playing drums with them for a while now.
Bill Walsh hasn't been in the Psychos for years and years. Still, can you call this version of X still X? That's the question...
why? are some of the members dead now?
why? are some of the members dead now?
Only one of the band's founders, Ian Rilen.
Ian Krahe has been dead for a long time too.
