Kid Sam At Polyester Charity Day

Melbourne’s Polyster Records will host its annual “Charity Day” at both city and Fitzroy stores tomorrow (April 17). Held in conjunction with International Independent Record Store Day, last year’s event saw more than $3510 donated to the Cancer Council Victoria.

Local personalities will once again person the Polyester tills including Triple R’s Breakfasters crew (Fee B-Squared, Ben Birchall and Tim Shiel); Alan Brough and Myf Warhurst from Spicks & Specks; comedians Andrew McClelland, Josh Earl and David O'Doherty; and Julia Zemiro from RocKwiz. Patrons at the city store will also be treated to a live performance by Kid Sam at midday.

Twenty percent of all proceeds from CD/vinyl/DVD sales from the day go to the Cancer Council Victoria. For those who can’t make it to the store, Polyester have set up a webpage where you can make a direct donation.

Other Melbourne stores participating in International Independent Record Store Day include Basement Discs, Greville Records, Last Record Store, Missing Link, Northside Records, Pure Pop Records, Record Collectors Corner and White Rabbit Record Bar.
