Bailey And Kuepper Together Again

One of rock’s most combustible duos – Chris Bailey and Ed Kuepper from The Saints – will hit the road in May for a series of stripped back residencies in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

Despite years of tension – some of which reared its head at the band’s performance at All Tomorrow’s Parties in Mt Buller – the pair will perform a selection of collaborative tracks from their back catalogue, as well as songs from their respective solo recordings. They will perform three weekly shows in each city: at Bennetts Lane in Melbourne, The Troubadour in Brisbane and The Vanguard in Sydney. Dates below.

Prior to setting off on the road, the pair will record stripped back and reworked tracks from the upcoming tour for release as an acoustic offering via the Liberation Blue label.

Tickets on sale via Moshtix or the venues on Monday (April 12).

Granny has less dye in her hair.

Bailey looks like he really really likes Nick Cave.

Nick Cave Is Stranded.

nishiki  said about 1 year ago:

the way the shows are organised it almost seems like some prank to make the promoter suffer by flying bailey and kuepper and their help up and down the east coast a bunch of times.

JRB  said about 1 year ago:

Bennetts?? Sweet!

The best show I've ever seen in my life was Ed stripped back and solo in a small pub so I hold high hopes for this.

Hope Chris does some shit off Savage Entertainment. I really like that album for some reason.

I think Bailey really really NEEDS Nick Cave

Kuepper's smiling!! Or maybe he's smirking. Hard to tell.

Goal attack  said about 1 year ago:

it's a trick of the beard, frankie

FrankieTeardrop  said about 1 year ago:

No, I'm sure he's smiling... I know, it's never been witnessed before. Don't be scared!

Hellzapoppin  said about 1 year ago:

I've seen the man smile, just very rarely near Baily.

carrionesque  said about 1 year ago:

EK isn't smiling. He's just plain p#$%ed by the looks of him. No wonder then the reunion is on. Looking forward to the gigs at the Vanguard

montyclift  said about 1 year ago:

the between-song banter may well be a highlight...

LeRayonVert  said about 1 year ago:

Come on, stop making such a big deal about Ed smiling, it's widely known that he smiled for the back cover photo for Rooms of the Magnificent in 1986 so it's hardly unprecedented.

BurtBacharach  said about 1 year ago:

In the brief period of time a lifetime ago when I wrote for streetpress, my very first interview was with Ed Kuepper and I was scared shitless. But not only did he treat me very gently but he smiled quite a bit.

Graf  said about 1 year ago:

Ed has some of the best jokes.

__v  said about 1 year ago:

anyone unable to contain their excitement about this? i'm going alright at containing mine

i figure if i go in there with no expectations i might be pleasantly surprised

LeRayonVert  said about 1 year ago:

Just got my ticket for the 30th at Bennetts Lane. I really have to stop buying tickets for shows in Melbourne though.

__v  said about 1 year ago:

hm, a few nice moments but generally pretty missable i thought

having kuepper play guitar and sing backing vocals on just like fire would was pretty alternate universe, likewise bailey on car headlights

it was the first one so perhaps they'll hit their stride later on

eastside  said about 1 year ago:

Damn I'm glad I found this, I'm not missing an alternative universe like that
