In Brief: The Mess Hall, Harry Howard, 3CR
  • Due to an “unavoidable last minute date clash”, The Mess Hall’s show at Jive Bar in Adelaide this Saturday (March 27) has been shifted to Sunday. All tickets already purchased for the Saturday show are valid for Sunday, with a full refund available from the point of purchase for those who don’t want to party on a school night. The show will bring the Mess Hall’s “For The Birds” national tour to a close. Supports by Bridezilla and Cabins. Doors open at 7.30pm, with The Mess Hall on at 10.15pm.

  • Harry Howard will play his first solo gig at Melbourne’s The Builders Arms on Saturday. The brother of the late Rowland S Howard, Howard was a founding member of Crime & The City Solution, These Immortal Souls and Pink Stainless Tail, as well as stepping in on occasional Birthday Party guitar duty. True to his pedigree, he will be backed by Dave Graney and Clare Moore who are “back in post-punk mode”. Supports by Stu Thomas (The Surrealists) and Bad Orchestra. Cost: $7 on the door.

  • Melbourne’s 3CR Community Radio will unveil a new mural at a street party on Friday (March 26). Festivities will commence on the corner of Smith and Little Victoria streets, Fitzroy, at 6pm, with live performances by Fadil Suna, Ruth Rodgers Wright, The Bulls and The Brothers Grim. Artists Bindi Cole, Tom Civil and Reko Rennie have designed and created the artwork along with input from 3CR volunteers, local indigenous organisations and a team of young indigenous people.
