Pivot To Preview New Material

After a year in the wilderness, Pivot return to preview new material in Melbourne and Sydney next month. In their first headline shows for 18 months, the trio – Dave Miller and brothers Richard and Laurence Pike – will perform at Sydney’s Annandale Hotel on April 1 and Melbourne’s East Brunswick Club on April 3.

The band will be previewing selected tracks from their forthcoming third album due for release later this year on Warp Records (via Inertia), as well songs from their 2008 album O Soundtrack My Heart. Recorded at Sydney’s BJB last year with Burke Reid, the album has already yielded new single, ‘The Quick Mile’, which has been picked up by triple j, FBi and Triple R. Listen to it here.

Pivot are currently in the US, where they’re performing several showcases as part of industry shindig South by Southwest.

Tickets for the local shows on sale through the venues today.

Oh yeah.

Haven't heard much recorded but these guys are stellar live. Especially the nutso drummer. I think it's the non-brother Dave.

Inactivist... that's Laurence Pike. He's amazing. He was also in Triosk and he played (still does?) drums with Jack Ladder and for Bill Callahan's last tour.

Shit, that's right, u/u. I've fucken interviewed him, in person on camera, for 20 minutes as well. I should be able to remember this shit. Incredible drummer, though. Saw them at Laneway and Golden Plains. Incredible. Not credible.
