Forthcoming: Seja
News posted Tuesday, February 9 2010 at 10:00 AM.
Related: Sekiden, Seja Vogel.

What: Seja’s We Have Secrets But Nobody Cares.
When: March 27 through Rice Is Nice.
Key notes: Debut album for Seja Vogel, keyboardist for Sekiden and Regurgitator. Produced, mixed and mastered by brother Mirko. Features a collaboration with Saul Jarvie (ex-Rival Flight) on ‘Framed You In Fiction’, a track that was initially emailed to him as an instrumental. Regurgitator’s Quan Yeomans and Spod assist with “structural suggestions and beats”, and Cameron Bruce plays piano on the album’s final track, ‘Between A Slur’.
First impressions: Befitting someone who’s been planted so long behind vintage synths, this album is a gooey, gorgeous love letter to the instrument. The wavering landscape Seja evokes is in line with Broadcast or Bachelorette, but her dreamy singing and heart-smart lyrics lend the songs an indelible pop core. The Saul Jarvie duet ‘Framed You In Fiction’ is a bleary early delight, while the penultimate ‘Wir Haben Geheimnisse’ resembles a German-language Stereolab.

This is the album I am most looking forward to this year
how was the last Sekiden album? i'd been looking for it, now and then.
also looking forward to checking this out.
Last Sekiden album was really good.
can't wait!
based on the internet characters who are excited, i'm excited.
researches
last Sekiden album wasn't as good as the one before, but this is the case for all their records. after that perfect first EP, everything was just a delivery system for songs you would play just enough to recognise and jump up and down excitedly when the band finally toured again... then put aside wistfully and wait for another shiny disc full of buzz-pop to herald another round of watching Mirko sweat a lot and put one drumstick high in the air.
totes keen for this record
aw. Kit tells the heartbreaking truth. i'll still look for it in the bargain basement bins.
Pinball Summer is one of the best songs to come out of Queensland (I think on the second album?).. sekiden should play again one day (in Australia), and also looking forward to hearing Seja's debut and collab with Saul ''the sourceror'' Jarvie.
not S-T-A-Y?
that song should have been massive.
This shit is fuckin' lethal, suckers. Through The Backstreets will wreck yr shit.
oh, and that album coverart: i love it.
Hey! have we had a best cover-art 2010 thread yet?
I just did up a teaser video for this album with 4 songs off the album. Well 5 including the intro. The album totally wrecks me, wonderful magic.
