Lost Weekend Loses A Day

Despite losing a day and shifting locations, organisers of the inaugural Lost Weekend festival are determined to make the event in March the “perfect end to the festival season”, and not another Blueprint.
Originally slated for three days (March 5-7) at the Ivory Rock Conference Centre on the outskirts of Brisbane, the event has now shifted into Brisbane’s city centre due to a reported licensing dispute. It will now take place at the Brisbane Riverstage and Botanical Gardens over two days (March 6-7), with the same line-up of bands (Dinosaur Jr, The Drones, Tumbleweed, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, etc.) performing over three stages between 10am and 10pm. As a result of the shift, the event is now all-ages.
In a statement on the Lost Weekend website, promoters said issues beyond their control had made running the event in the way they envisaged impossible. However, they are still hopeful of holding the event as planned next year.
“All parties have been keen to make The Lost Weekend work and we still believe we will achieve this in time. But in the end we needed to make sure we could provide the best experience at the inaugural event for both patrons and artists alike.”
All current tickets are valid for the new venue, with organisers promising to contact existing ticket holders with an explanation of their options. Full refunds will be available.
As of today, three types of tickets are available: a two-day pass ($150), a Saturday pass ($100) and a Sunday pass ($75). For ticket sales and a full line-up click here.

Really a shame to see a festival with a great lineup like this having trouble. That ''experimental'' stage (for want of a better word) looks incredible.
really looking forward to this festival. probably just going to go on the saturday (brilliant lineup!), and also see james blackshaw again on the sunday.
such a confusing lineup
some really amazing, interesting stuff and some complete and utter dross
According to the website it's off completely now.
now a few of those bands (drones, BJM, deerhoof) are free next weekend theres a little festival happening in Meredith that might be able to squeeze them on the bill at the last minute, no?
Wow. I wonder what happened. From their site:
''Critical mass''? Do they mean ticket sales?
would be great to find out from the people involved rather than stumbling upon it on here
great work!!
Pretty shit news. The promoters did well with Sounds Of Spring but maybe this festival was too ambitious..
So they didn't let the bands know first? That's pretty poor form.
This really fucking sucks. I didn't go to the BJM show because of Lost Weekend. ARGH.
Aw, Lost Weekend banner has taken over the top of the page.
Looking at it, lots of cool bands, but just not enough. Impressive though, that essentially everyone I know was MEANING to go, totally, just hadn't got around to it. Me included.
