After five years of struggling to keep his Australian residency, and a lack of practical options to sustain it any longer, Electric Jellyfish founding member Michael Beach has made the difficult decision to return to America.
Beach, a San Francisco native who has made Australia his home since late 2005, will play his final show in his adopted home town of Melbourne this month. He will perform a solo show at The Old Bar with ninetynine, Do The Robot and East Brunswick All Girls Choir (solo show) on February 12, before embarking on this third US tour with Electric Jellyfish in March/April. After the tour, Beach will remain in the States where he plans to tour extensively and commence work on the follow-up to his “timeless” debut album, Blood Courses.
Beach’s departure doesn’t spell the end of Electric Jellyfish, however. Augmented by new drummer Peter Warden, the trio will release a new EP in March, and will continue to play together “whenever they are in the same country”.

Aw damn.
Real nice guy. Loved the show I played with him.
Great dude. I'll try and make it to the last show.
BOO> blood courses is one of the best surprises of my life. period. its FANTASTIC. it's a REVELATION disguised in music. he was even nice enough to send me his CD as i got the vinyl without it. i hope he keeps on keeping on and Ej get back together soon...
couldnt some chick just marry him??? there's a man drought on remember. this will just make things worse.
this is an eternal bummer. mike is one of the nicest guys in the world, and blood courses is the best album i've heard in a very long time.
I'll marry ya Michael!
should be solid...
Wait- not that I mean to ignore your departure, but Do The Robot are in town?
