MJs To Replace Bunnymen At Laneway

Melbourne's Midnight Juggernauts have been drafted in as 11th-hour replacements for Echo and The Bunnymen, who have pulled out of tomorrow’s Laneway Festival in Melbourne under mysterious circumstances.

Earlier this week, the UK New Wave outfit cancelled shows at Brisbane’s Laneway and at The Enmore Theatre in Sydney due to “unforeseen circumstances”, but it appears an apparent missed flight has been their undoing this time around.

“Lead singer Ian McCulloch, who was due to arrive in Melbourne tonight, has missed his flight from London and won't make it to Australia in time for the scheduled performance,” read a statement from organisers. “At this stage, all other performances are due to go ahead as planned.”

Wow...what a letdown. I really liked Midnight Juggernauts album...till I saw them live, in fact I still like that album but I never want to see them live again.

Except for this that came from a massive link on the front page of the laneway site.

Dirty three would have been better.

Echo were boring in Sydney anyway, Bris and Melb didn't miss much.
