In Brief: Gaslight Radio, Exo, Mike Noga
  • In what’s become an annual tradition, the Gaslight Radio Christmas show will take place at The Toff in Town in Melbourne on December 23 – and in keeping with the festive spirit, the band will come bearing gifts. The first 50 payers will receive an unreleased two-track live EP, while the original gig poster (designed by local artist Kat Macleod) will be auctioned off on the night for charity. Supports by Ollie Browne (Art of Fighting, Parallel Lions), Milk Teddy and Amaya Laucirica. Tickets: $12 presale/$15 on the door.

  • Still stuck for New Year’s plans? Venerable Melbourne indie Exo Records will be hosting their first New Year’s Eve bash at The East Brunswick Club next week. Bands performing include Rat Vs Possum, The Diamond Sea, Teen Archer and Love Or Perish (US). There will also be a BBQ in the beer garden, as well as DJs throughout the night. Tickets are $20 plus booking fees and strictly limited to 250. Buy them here.

  • Mike Noga and The Gentlemen of Fortune (colloquially “The Gents”) will make a rare appearance on New Year’s Day for those brave enough to step out into the light. The Gents will perform alongside Brisbane’s best bar band The Gin Club at Yah Yah’s in Melbourne. The Gents’ last show at the Northcote Social Club was a sell out, and this will be their only show before a national tour in February. Doors open 8pm.
