Debut 7” For Miniature Submarines

Mark Nelson has no qualms describing his new solo project Miniature Submarines as an unashamed exercise in pop, which is some call for a guy responsible for those dirge-like basslines in The Stabs.
The band – essentially Nelson with Monika Fikerle (Love of Diagrams, Baseball) helping out on drums – will release its debut 7” through Sydney imprint Rice Is Nice Records (Spod, Richard In Your Mind) on December 10. It features ‘The Little Room Under The Stairs’, which is currently streaming here, as well as b-side, the fantastically titled ‘I Heard That You Turned Into A Loser, Baby’.
With Fikerle only involved in a recording capacity, the band is augmented live by Greg Kerslake (Mother & Father) and guns-for-hire Alex Jarvis and Duncan Blachford.
