i finally voted. but then realised i haven't listened to 5 new albums this year. let alone australian ones. ah the state of local music...or more my absence from local venues.

and some of those acts in 'newish act' aren't that new.

That might be why they're newish

but should they be new to 2009, or is 2008 ok? cause then they could have added more bands in that category. why some and not others? where is the line drawn?

Well then what you do is look at the list and pick what you believe to be the best newish act.

it was more about acts that had their ''breakthrough'' year in 2009. and we tried to avoid bands that were nominated in 2008 like Super Wild Horses and The UV Race.
