Golden Plains 2010 First Round

Related: Golden Plains.
For most of us, the early announcement of Pavement (featuring Melbourne’s own Spiral Stairs) was good enough, but organisers of next year’s Golden Plains festival haven’t stopped there.
Nineteen more acts have been confirmed for the annual event including local acts Midnight Juggernauts, Tame Impala, Super Wild Horses, Crayon Fields and Royal Headache (amazing what a Pitchfork endorsement and a “special” set at Flip Out can do). There’ll also be a rare appearance for the Tex Perkins-fronted Cruel Sea, who last performed at the Supernatural Amphitheatre at the Meredith Music Festival in 1997.
They’ll join a strong international contingent that includes Dinosaur Jr (yep, start choppin’), Dirty Projectors, The Big Pink, Calexico, Nashville Pussy, Jeffrey Lewis and The Junkyard and Wooden Shjips (typo intended). Full line-up below.
The fourth annual Golden Plains festival will take place at the Supernatural Amphitheatre in Meredith, Victoria, from March 6-8. For everything else click here.

Awesome lineup!
I'd like to see Shjips, thats it though.
Sigh.
I'll never end up at one'a these it seems.
Good times. I can dig this.
would love to go, alas wrong weekend for me
Pavement, Dino Jr, Wooden Shjips, and possibly Monotonix sideshows for me
best meredith lineup yet
no sleep for me
Pavement, Dinosaur Jr and The Cruel Sea? What is this, 1993? Sweet!
I won the ballot too. It's a long way to go, though...
No Ballot for me.
Hey, Junkie Phil, how many bands do you need to know you want to see before you will go?
thank f-ck, finally won the ballot when it matters most. great line-up. would've been great to see brian jonestown massacre but that might've been a little too good.
now to find the spare cash to buy a ticket.
I WON THE BALLOT!!!!
TAKE THAT MEREDITH!
got ballot. and now to damn the torpedoes and continue to pile on the debt.
why did i think an overseas holiday was a good idea in the run up to christmas present-buying and festival ticket-purchasing season?!
Filterfest?
This isn't really my year. I like 2 of the internationals. Great local line-up, one of the best i've seen up there, but all bands i've seen multiple times already.
Will Oldham for second announcement plz.
So no BJM then?
i thought this was the second announcement.
I want BJM at GP!
Ur smrt.
BJM would prolly get me there but happy with Pavement and Dino Jr sideshows at the moment
well, i'd have to be an idiot to engage in conversation with you, blake.
you're capable of a conversation?
who knew!?
Love love love this lineup.
i'm sorry that the line-up isn't full of sooky indie shit, blake. just deal with it.
oh, wait a minute...
I dealt with it in one and a half lines, in quite a positive manner.
okay, energizer bunny. whatever.
I always feel positive after one and a half lines. For a while, at least.
please continue, modi.
Definitely some great stuff in there, but I have to admit that overall I'm a little disappointed. Don't think it's as good as the Meredith lineup, the first time thats been the case since GP started.
Regardless of the line-up - which is still rather good - it's the best festival on the island.
Get amongst it kids.
Yeah, they really haven't had a really good line up since the one I dreamed I went to before Meredith even started
SCHNOOOOOOOORE!
''Alright guys so next year let's book all the best bands in the world as voted by everyones individual preferences and then there will be no way no one will not be able to have a great time''.
Got tix last night - ALRIGHT!
Five acts I'd very much like to see (and a couple more I'd happily watch). As it is with that I'm pretty worried about when my volunteer shift will be, so kinda happy its not ALL KILLER NO FILLER. Them's the breaks when you're fucken poor ass, I guess.
No Clean or 3Ds makes me sad though
Really undecided on this, seen every international on that list apart from Pavement before. Lack money. But you know, it'll be an awesome weekend no matter what.
Royal Headache will rule there man. Do it! (I heard you're getting Han's ticket, yeah?)
agree with you on the 3ds part. then again, it is (will be) 2010. you know.
Yeah, either gonna buy hers with mine or just give her the code, she's def going though. Yeah my Royal Headache love is convincing me, but I am seeing them twice in the next month.
Also don't know if anyone else has mentioned it'd be awesome to see the Cruel Sea.
Maybe we will get some NZ action with the second announcement??
oh, and if anyone has a ballot code handy and has decided not to go, please PM me! I was not one of the chosen ones.
says you who is getting uber excited about pavement. i reckon 3ds would be great (reports from the reformation shows back it up!), and they're probably not even in my top five flying nun bands
pah, i don't get uber excited about anything.
i'd prefer jps experience reform but i assume you'd need more than 2 people to be interested in your band to warrant a reformation.
Bleeding Star is great. I should search out some more, eh?
