They’ve spent the past month touring Australia, but there appears to be no rest on the horizon for Brisbane’s I Heart Hiroshima.

The hard-working trio will make their maiden voyage to Asia for a performance at Vietnam’s Loreto Festival on November 28. Dubbed Saigon’s “largest international music festival” (it could also be their only one), Loreto Fest is run annually in support of disadvantaged and disabled children. Other bands performing include Ratatat from the US, Goo from Thailand and Pham Anh Khoa, Thao Trang and the Microwave Band, all from Vietman. The tour will also include stops in Hanoi and Nha Trang, as well as Cambodia. Dates TBA.

I Heart Hiroshima are currently touring Australia in support of second album The Rip. Dour dates here. They’ve also been confirmed for a New Year’s Eve show at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast with Birds of Tokyo, Regurgitator, British India, Mammal and Inspector Cluzo (France).

Tokyo Police Club, which reminds me of a little mischief I was involved last year: I was on Narita airport, waiting in line to check my luggage. It dragged on because the guys from the above mentioned band were taking their time with all the guitars and crap. Anyway, we finally put it through, loaded the plane, took off... A couple of hours later I had to go to the loo, thinking of doing a big one, but instead I just farted. It was a long, particularly stinky one. I got out and right there was one of the band members, waiting impatiently to use the toilet. I let him in and smiled - he had a nasty surprise wating for him there...
