What better way to make your first defining statement as a band than with a photograph of nicely ordered blocks of cheese? For their debut self-titled LP, Sydney four-piece Songs commissioned well-known photographer Max Creasy, a guy who’s exhibited around the world, to snap a selection of fine cheeses for the album cover. A gouda idea? You be the judge.
Out on November 21 on Popfrenzy, the album was recorded with Casey Rice (The Dirty Three, The Sea and Cake and most recently Aleks & The Ramps), and features guest appearances by Ian Wadley (ex-Bird Blobs, St Helens), Guy Blackman, Designer and Jack Mannix (Circle Pit).
To celebrate the release, Songs will headline three shows in late November: at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on November 26, Brisbane’s The Club on November 28 and an afternoon show at Melbourne’s Workers Club on November 29.

Specialy when they aren't actualy in the afternoon.
They'll be on at 8 -8:30 at that bob boy show.
It's all relative - 8-8.30 might as well be the afternoon.

Let's wheel out hillsong, I'm sure he has some puns wedged in behind the wax of his ears.
All this joking makes me blue. Please don't continue in this vein.
Puns rule, any way you slice it.
Packed with well Krafted singles, I'll bet.

not sure that this band is worth the hype. i guess time will tell. please agree with my ears.
Didn't really dig the tunes all that much. Sorry.
I'm also lactose intolerant.
Whats the song with lyrics like
''It's a song, with a clue, and words, for you''
or some such?
either 'doesnt exist', or 'just an idea', i think
what hype, IB? they should be hyped more...
Hey! You can actually buy this in shops now! Awesome. I'm gonna drink a beer on my verandah and listen to it this weekend.
i'm going to track this down on the weekend.
Vinyl?
Picked this up today. Actually really enjoying it. Seen them so many times that all the songs are familiar though which is weird on the first listen of an album.
From where? Repressed?
Red Eye.
i need to head in. i looked for it on sunday in a couple of places without luck.
one or two of the tracks are a bit off, but all in all an amazing record
