Belated Album Launch For Talons

It’s been five months since the release of their self-titled debut on local imprint Rice Is Nice, but Talons have finally found a window in their schedule to launch the sucker.

The band will perform in Sydney at the Helen Rose Schauersberger Laboratorium in Surry Hills on November 21 and in Melbourne at the more respectably named Old Bar on November 27. Witch Hats and Miniature Submarines are supporting both shows.

Released on May 30, Talons was recorded over a month-and-a-half period in contrasting surroundings – from Sydney’s 301 studios to friends' hallways, bedrooms and kitchens. It was produced by Tim Carr, who has played a hand in records by Dead China Doll and Ohana.

To celebrate the album’s belated launch, the band will release a free podcast via iTunes on November 10. It will include a track from the album, a Beastie Boys cover and a surprise track that threatens to “blow your brains into your birth canals”. More details from the Rice Is Nice website.
