It’s official. Golden Plains has been named Australia’s favourite festival for the second year running.
The event – held annually in Meredith, Victoria, each year – was voted first out of close to 250 nominees at a ceremony in Sydney last night (October 15). It also took out the award for best management and facilities.
More than 23,000 public votes from around Australia were tallied to decide the 11 category winners, with Peats Ridge (most green friendly), Splendour in the Grass (best line-up) and Falls Marion Bay (best location) among the winners. Sydney electro act Art V Science won favourite local act for their Splendour In The Grass set, while Bloc Party took out favourite international act also for the Splendour performance. No awards, however, for the Blueprint Festival in Ararat, Victoria. An oversight, surely?

woooohooo
the voting page didn't accept Essential Festival in Sydney.
but it did accept Sydney Festival, which i thought strange. it's all broken up and all over the place, it's not continous. i think that's an important point in the definition of a music festival.
Is that a boognish being held up in that photo?
yup.
Yes, it is.
How could it not be the best?
It has Pavement and Dino Jr! (The rumours continue here...)
slint! slint! slint!
As much as I LOVE Golden Plains, ATP still hands down the BEST festival I have been to.
