This time last year, Ned Collette and his Wirewalker cohorts were about to embark on a European tour with good friend and filmmaker Natalie van den Dungen along for the ride. The resulting footage – two film clips and a 12-minute “documentary/live film/Rocky IV-type montage” – will be screened at Melbourne’s Glitch Bar & Cinema tomorrow night (October 15). Doors: 7pm. The band will also perform at an in-store at Polyster Records in Melbourne’s CBD on October 22 in support of new album Over The Stones, Under The Stars (out October 23 on Dot Dash). It’ll be launched with a full-scale tour in November. Dates here … Meanwhile, Collette’s touring buddies Teeth and Tongue (pictured) have a new single out. ‘Sad Sun’ is the first release from the newly-evolved outfit, which began life as a solo project for former Moscow Schoolboy singer Jess Cornelius. Available for digital download via iTunes on November 7, it’s the first taste of the band’s forthcoming album, due for release in early 2010 … In completely unrelated news, Mike Noga will use a tiny gap in The Drones’ hectic touring schedule to launch a new limited-edition Gentlemen of Fortune EP. Noga and The Gents will reconvene for a rare performance at The Northcote Social Club on December 4 in support of the release, which will only be available at this and future shows (whenever those may be). Tickets on sale now from the NSC website with special guests announced soon.
