Grong Grong’s first tour in 25 years hasn’t gotten off to the best of starts. The Adelaide punk legends’ show at The Loft in Warrnambool on Wednesday was called off after the band reportedly arrived four hours late. To add insult to injury, they’ve pulled out of a Missing Link in-store on October 11 and have had to move their Melbourne show due to a double booking. It will now take place on Saturday (October 10) at The Tote Hotel and not at the East Brunswick Club as first reported. Supports by Witch Hats and Kim Volkman & The Whiskey Priests … In the wake of The Hopetoun Hotel’s closure, Sydney radio station 2ser 107.3 has had to relocate five parties in celebration of its 30th birthday. The Maple Trail, Des Miller, Kelly Saunders and Richard In Your Mind show will now be held at BJB in Surry Hills on October 22; Peabody, Sounds Like Sunset, Line Drawings and Atticus will be held at The Lansdowne on October 23; Smudge and Jamie Hutchings And His Imaginary Choir will play a matinee performance at The Exclesior in Surry Hills on October 24; The Paper Scissors, Deep Sea Arcade, Caitlin Park and Heinz Riegler are at Spectrum on October 30; and the return of club night Frigid will now take place at 202 Broadway on November 1. 2ser's annual subscriber drive kicks off on Monday (October 12). For more details visit www.2ser.com … Following sell-outs of the Sydney and Gold Coast legs, 45,000 tickets to the Melbourne Big Day Out were quickly snapped up this morning. The final 5000 tickets to the event – January 26 at Flemington Racecourse – will be made available for purchase through a weekly ballot system that’s too convoluted to explain (this is news “In Brief”, after all).
