Meredith Second Round

Related: Meredith.
This year’s Meredith Music Festival has consolidated one of its best line-ups in recent years with a tasty selection of local acts. All we need now is no torrential rain.
Joining the first batch (Animal Collective, Jarvis Cocker, Eddy Current, etc.) in no particular order are: The Dacios, The Fauves, Oh Mercy, Regular John, Kes Band, Wagons and DJ Mafia. Portland’s Yacht (not to be confused with Yacht Club DJs) and New York’s Tim Sweeney will bulk up the international contingent, while media personality Angus Sampson will call Sunday’s Gift. Dubbed the “sleeper hit of the festival”, Silence Wedge is also back for two more “virtuoso performances”.
With Meredith tickets completely sold out, the next chance for a Supernatural Amphitheatre experience will be the Golden Plains Festival, which will take place over March 6-8.

THE FAUVES!
Good thing I'm going this year.
i need a ticket now, i think.
yay for foves.
The Fauves AND Tumbleweed ... never thought I'd see the day...
Yacht! Fuckin' yeah!
Very happy with the addition of Tim Sweeney and Yacht! Excitements!
And Dacios for bass groove cruise and Tassie cred!
Pharoahe Monch would be good to see.
Many rounds of applause.
I haven't heard Dacios though, can ya liken them to anyone in particular?
Could listen to them at THEIR MYSPACE they're awesome.
Work computer says no :)
Oh, then astrousers says they sound a bit like Little Ugly Girls, who some of them used to be. They were famous for their paint-peeling vocals of Linda, gargantuan riffage and massive drum sound. They write really good lyrics, unlike a lot bands who are known for their volume.
Henry Wagons should be the MC for the Meredith Gift.
tha fauves! my god it's a half decent line up this year ad i'm not going. fuck!
Anyone worked out who's playing what days yet? Carn't be arsed, but it's all on mmf.com.

you could work out some from the sideshows, but that'll take even more time.
tim sweeney is playing friday night according to the blurb.
If you look at the sideshow dates you can figure out when some bands might be playing too. e.g. Kitty Daisy and lewis are playing in Melbs on the firday night.
putting my hand up for two tickets for two dear dear (disorganised) friends if anyone has any spares.
I'll be outta the country for Meredith and pretty much all sideshows (grrr).
For Yacht fans, here are their sideshows (ruling out a Saturday night at Meredith):
12 Dec
Revolver Melbourne, Victoria
15 Dec
Oxford Art Factory Sydney
16 Dec
Brisbane Powerhouse Brisbane
The Fauves? The Dacios? Thats shit. But Tim Sweeney is def great.
Have you seen The Dacios live? One of the best bands in the country, IMO.
Dacios will slay! great news!
Now there's a festival.
I would like to have seen East Brunswick Girls Choir added. Got a thing about this band. The last show I saw at The Old Bar was pretty world class and it isn't a big stretch of the imagination to see myself parting with $100 if they were from anywhere other than Australia. I've given up on the idea that any band I'm in will ever play there... (goes off to sook)
Yes buffy. I saw them again last week and they were better than I remembered. Stabs would be kickarse at Meredith - Aunty, fix this shit!
I've put The Stabs in my survey requests for a few years now. Hopefully one day they wake up to how good that would be.
Thanks, but its understandable. Who wants a wrist-slashing band at a feel-good festival?
New Stabs album is fucking broodle. They better play Golden Plains, then.
or just release the album so we can play it loud at the campsite and get thrown out.
yeah Stabs at Golden Plains would be sick!
If Deaf Wish can do it, Stabs should too
Bands like My Disco and Deaf Wish aren't exactly happy good time bands (not for me anyway), but they've played it. Stabs are perfect music for around 5-7pm on the friday in my opinion.
All I want is to be offered a campsite behind the sack fence where all the bands get to camp so I can say 'no thanks, I've already got a spot where we camp' - but seriously, the kindness of your support is making it hard for me to sook properly.
The Stabs and UV Race would shape up the lineup to an almost perfect degree.
Usually how many acts play on the Friday night?
used to be from 6 until about 2am?
but probably be more now, as they're opening up friday earlier.

We're only into headlining Big Day Outs these days.
Thanks for the words though Buffy.
Oh and Rie is from Japan so I'll take the $100.
