For those who can’t afford the 125 odd dollars needed to see Fleetwood Mac, Sydney’s Ripping Dylans might be the next best thing. The band will launch their latest album Tumours – a reworking of Fleetwood Mac's 1988 Greatest Hits – over four shows next week. They will perform at Geelong’s Barwon Club on September 28, at Pony’s infamous 2am show in Melbourne later that night and at the Tote, also in Melbourne, on September 29 with The Beat Disease, The Orphanage and The Toot Toot Toots. The tour will culminate with a performance in Sydney on October 3 with Talons, who will be “massacring” the Beastie Boys’ hottest hits, and the cheekily named Premium Calculators, whose assembled Micro KORG orchestra will reenact highlights from Nirvana’s 1992 album In Utero … Post-punk outfit Ivy St will celebrate the release of debut album Picture Machine with a quarter of shows in October and September. The Hobart trio will launch the album at Melbourne’s The Tote Hotel on September 25, Megafauna at Adelaide’s Exeter on October 3, Silvermoon at Sydney’s Dirty Shirlows on October 9 and at Stemford Hiss at Brisbane’s Lofty Hanger on October 10. Picture Machine was released earlier this month on Wireless Records via MGM … Not to be confused with Melbourne “supergroup” The Bowerbirds, Brisbane’s Butcher Birds (pictured) will release debut album Set My Bones on October 2 through Mere Noise Records/MGM. The album was recorded by Jeff Lovejoy at Blackbox Studios in their native Brisbane. The album will be launched across Australia next month. Tour dates here.

From the way it was worded it looked like the 2am show was on the 28th/29th.. which of course does not make sense at all! Thanks for clearing that up eucalyptus.
