In Brief: AXXONN, Heil Spirits, Truth From Facts

After some 25 shows across Europe that saw them play in underground basements in Berlin, Vineyards in Italy and abandoned hairdressing salons in Glasgow, AXXONN (pictured) will embark on a whistle-stop Aus tour this month. The experimental noise duo – Tom Hall (Solo, TRIAD) and Ian Rogers (No Anchor) – will perform at Brisbane’s The Zoo on September 24 with Toy Balloon, 3ofMillions and Cured Pink Radio; on September 27 at the Black Sunday mini-festival in Hobart; and on September 29 at Bar Open in Melbourne. After these shows AXXONN will take a well-deserved three-month hiatus as Hall heads to the US for some solo shows … Self-described “one-man audio storm” Heil Spirits (aka Eli Partridge, formerly of hardcore/doom act The Stockholm Syndrome) has arrived in Melbourne for a series of shows. He will perform at The Old Bar tonight (September 17) with James Rushford and Joe Talia, Anekantavada and Laral and tomorrow at Loophole with Aktion Unit, Dead Boomers and Rob Mayson. Partridge will also take part in “Dysbiotic Dialectic”, a collaboration between Heil Spirits, Aktion Unit and Dead Boomers, at "CrashBangFuckYourHead" in Thornbury on September 19 … Ahead of the launch of their debut album, tentatively titled 2009, Truth From Facts will launch a 7” at an all-ages show at Catfood Press in Melbourne on September 26. Supports by Bowcaster, Bowels and Sleeping Weather.

Tom and I are also doing solo sets on the 30th at Stutter supporting Duck Tails.

Plus: I'm playing at Tom's regular house party (Sonic Boom!) this coming Sunday (20th) w/ Ian Mcyntire (Brothers of the Occult Sisterhood), Secret Killer Of Names, Extra Fox and White Bears Of Norway (who are off to Japan not long after). Free. Bring booze and good vibes.
