Taking advantage of some “downtime” this spring, Electric Jellyfish’s Michael Beach will embark on his first national solo tour in support of debut album Blood Courses.
Released independently in late 2008, the album, while critically acclaimed, took a promotional backseat to Electric Jellyfish's releases and shows. It was described by M+N as “timeless”, avoiding the “pitfalls of genre, fashion and commercial considerations”.
Beginning next month, Beach’s “Springtime Australian Tour” includes two support slots with Bluebottle Kiss frontman Jamie Hutchings – at Sydney’s Hopetoun Hotel on October 2 and at Melbourne’s Old Bar on October 9. It will wind up back in Melbourne on November 13 at the Empress Hotel with Chris Smith, Houlette and Milk Teddy.
