Sydney-based, New Zealand-born, impossible-to-Google quartet Songs will hit the road this September ahead of the release of new radio single ‘Different Light’.
Over the past 12 months, the band have been on the support trail, playing with the likes of Deerhunter, Adam Green, Beach House, Love of Diagrams and fellow Kiwis The Bats. But their upcoming tour will yield some headline shows of their own – in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide – as well as a spot on Spring Tones’ esteemed bill.
In between forays to New Zealand and up and down Australia’s east coast, the band found time to record their debut album with Casey Rice (Tortoise, Aleks and the Ramps) at Sydney's BJB Studios last year. It’ll be out on Popfrenzy in late 2009.

Happy looking band!
They're happy because they just put everyone to sleep. Again.
Um, only 1 member in the band was actually born in NZ
ha old guy alert!
Which one, Jeff?
the dude with the glasses and short grey hair? gotta be heading towards 40 no?
he looks cool don't get me wrong. wish I was cool.
I thought both Max and Jeff were from NZ. Or lived there... Or something.
Steve was born there, Max and Jeff both lived there when they were kids and Ela's from the NSW north coast.
Cam, I'm disappointed you haven't had the obligatory whinge about there being no Perth show. I thought I could share my duties in this regard with you from now on. Honestly. So, in that spirit: why no fucken Perth?
Sorry Doug - I only pretend to read Mountain Fold! ;)
Yes, I would whinge, but really - what's the point. There may be a Jeff Burch solo show in Perth sometime in the next year... I'm working on it.
Also, please send SONGS to Perth.
Reputation, brother. It's all about the reputation. Solo Jeff sounds great, btw.
Great news re: new album.
Vinyl release?
look'n forward to Spring tones show too eh!
if they don't call it ''Albums'' i'm gonna smash the shit out of Vicky
Songs playing a Sydney show, holy shit!

Nah, Cam was talking to username: Mountain Fold. My name is Samuel. Sam will do just fine, though.
