Songs On The Road

Sydney-based, New Zealand-born, impossible-to-Google quartet Songs will hit the road this September ahead of the release of new radio single ‘Different Light’.

Over the past 12 months, the band have been on the support trail, playing with the likes of Deerhunter, Adam Green, Beach House, Love of Diagrams and fellow Kiwis The Bats. But their upcoming tour will yield some headline shows of their own – in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide – as well as a spot on Spring Tones’ esteemed bill.

In between forays to New Zealand and up and down Australia’s east coast, the band found time to record their debut album with Casey Rice (Tortoise, Aleks and the Ramps) at Sydney's BJB Studios last year. It’ll be out on Popfrenzy in late 2009.

I thought both Max and Jeff were from NZ. Or lived there... Or something.

Steve was born there, Max and Jeff both lived there when they were kids and Ela's from the NSW north coast.

Cam, I'm disappointed you haven't had the obligatory whinge about there being no Perth show. I thought I could share my duties in this regard with you from now on. Honestly. So, in that spirit: why no fucken Perth?

etherichymns  said about 2 years ago:

Sorry Doug - I only pretend to read Mountain Fold! ;)

Yes, I would whinge, but really - what's the point. There may be a Jeff Burch solo show in Perth sometime in the next year... I'm working on it.

etherichymns  said about 2 years ago:

Also, please send SONGS to Perth.

astralwerkor  said about 2 years ago:

Reputation, brother. It's all about the reputation. Solo Jeff sounds great, btw.
