Pyramid Rock First Round

The Empire of the Sun freak show will be rolled out for the second time this year at the upcoming Pyramid Rock festival.

The foil for Luke Steele’s ever-swelling ego is among a large contingent of local acts confirmed for the festival, which is held annually in Victoria’s picturesque home of penguins and camel toes, Phillip Island. Other acts performing include The Cat Empire, The Butterfly Effect, Architecture in Helsinki, Faker, The Beautiful Girls, The Drones, Tame Impala, Van She, Grafton Primary, Bluejuice, Kram, The Fumes and Regular John. More to be announced soon.

The event, which goes head to head with Falls, will take place over New Year’s from December 29 to January 1. Tickets ($285 plus booking fee for a three-day ticket, $250 for two) on sale from September 3, 9am.

__v  said about 2 years ago:

sorry VF, no idea. just meaning to say that that line-up would find me experiencing peaceful ZZZs lying directly in front of the speaker stacks.

kellyclarksonisgold  said about 2 years ago:

hmmm maybe I can get my literature postgrad work done. and read all dem existentialist plays I been meaning to get read.

good one!

VoxFuzz  said about 2 years ago:

Oh, I see. Depending on my mood I may pay that price if there was a guarantee of penguin interaction.

__v  said about 2 years ago:

for that price i would be very tempted to jet over to NZ to hang with the charming blue penguins of oamaru - much better bang for one's penguin buck

kellyclarksonisgold  said about 2 years ago:

head to antarctica, giant penguins are better.

unvisible  said about 2 years ago:

An expensive festival with a mostly terrible lineup aimed at bogans plus a few good bands that seem quite out of place? I can scarcely believe it.

__v  said about 2 years ago:

but free camping!
