Papa vs Pretty may be a band of hot young things, but that doesn’t mean they don’t know a thing or two about viral marketing. The Sydney three-piece have released the second installment of “From the Bunker”, an eight-part online series that will see the band release a new track and accompanying clip each fortnight. Each clip has been recorded, filmed and produced entirely by the band and their school chum Ben Wilson (yep, they’re still in high school). Clips can be viewed here … Brisbane’s Skinny Jean (pictured) will release their debut album Dolce Doggerel on September 11. The band are currently touring the country with Bluejuice, but will launch new single ‘Anhedonia’ at the Hopetoun Hotel in Sydney on August 29 and at X&Y Bar in Brisbane on September 5. Supports from like-minded pop outfit Deep Sea Arcade … After a few false starts, The Bon Scotts will launch their debut album Oddernity at the Wesley Anne in their hometown of Melbourne on August 28. The eclectic pop five-piece formed in 2005, but disbanded soon after the release of debut EP The Yellow Fall. They reformed this year to record Oddernity, a self-described “quirky and slapdash pop” record that references The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Vampire Weekend and the Violent Femmes.

Lazy writing resulting in abject nonsense. These contemporary music groups deserve serious analysis, not this tenuous flim-flam.
Yes, agreed..
Digging The Bon Scotts at the moment....
Skinny Jean crushed Kenyan roast bean.
They say you like it sun dried, is that right?
Lazy writing indeed. Doesn't even mention Skinny Jean's Melbourne show at The Empress this Friday.
OK maybe not that funny, but it made me lol.
