It’s only August, but My Disco have announced their final shows for what’s been an eventful 2009.
The band will play a trio of gigs across the east coast including a stint at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on September 24 with Absolute Boys, Holy Balm and Pitchfork-endorsed four-piece Royal Headache; a slot on the Sounds of Spring Festival bill on September 26 in Brisbane; and a late night “Beck’s Rumpus Room” show with Beaches and Your Animal at the Melbourne International Arts Festival on October 17.
Earlier this year, My Disco embarked on a three-month world tour, but had to cancel a slew of North American dates after a laptop, a passport and some other electronic goods were stolen from a gig in Toronto, Canada. They eventually made their way to Europe, where they finished things off in style.
After their east-coast run of dates, the band will reportedly start work on their third LP, the follow-up to last year’s Paradise.

Lazy writing resulting in abject nonsense. My Disco's final 2009 gigs deserve serious analysis, not this tenuous flim-flam.
