It’s taken 19 years, but Paul Kelly will finally make his Meredith bow. The legendary singer-songwriter will grace the Supernatural Amphitheatre – now an official Victorian landmark – as the sun sets on Meredith Saturday.
Kelly is part of a strong local contingent that includes Meredith perennials Eddy Current Suppression Ring, folk-pop wunderkinds Kid Sam, Xtina-endorsed pop princess Sia, enigmatic Townsville collective The Middle East and newly reformed grunge kingpins Tumbleweed. International acts include Animal Collective, Akron/Family, Crocodiles, Heavy Trash, Kitty Daisy and Lewis, Royal Crown Revue, Why?, Thee Oh Sees, Jarvis Cocker and Patrick Wolf. Full line-up below.
The event will take place over the second weekend of December (11-13). Changes this year include five hectares more campground (despite tickets being capped at the same capacity), earlier entry on Friday and 50 more waterless composting eco-loos.
A ballot for subscribers is currently underway with store sales open on September 8 and online sales from September 10. One type of ticket only this year: a full festival ticket called “FriSatSun”. For ticket details visit www.mmf.com.au.

If I wasn't saving for an overseas trip a week after Meredith, I'd totally go. Animal Collective + Jarvis Cocker + Akron/Family = awesome. On the proviso that Akron/Family avoid playing their shitty circle-jerk jam band stuff.

any news on Why? sideshows? They seem to be the forgotten band on this line-up, easily the band I'm most looking forward to seeing.
