Cester Hospitalised After Collapse

A week out from the release of third album Shaka Rock, Jet’s Nic Cester has collapsed onstage at a gig in London.

The 30-year-old singer is currently undergoing further tests and evaluations at London’s University College Hospital after collapsing twice during Jet’s show at the Hard Rock Café last night (August 11). Cester is suffering from dehydration and severe low blood pressure and is being held in hospital for a second day awaiting test results, his management company confirmed today.

Josh Klemme from Tenth Street Entertainment, the band’s New York management company, said: “Jet is just completing their second trip around the world in support of the upcoming release of Shaka Rock. Hopping from airplane to airplane, city to city and country to country could compromise anyone’s health. Nic’s drive to give it his all and get up on stage to perform despite feeling ill is a testament to how strongly he and the band feel about ‘She’s A Genius’ as a single and Shaka Rock as an album.” (Nice plug there, Josh).

Jet were set to play an acoustic show at the London Parker McMillan club on August 12, but it’s unsure whether Cester will be passed fit to appear.

Fucken A.

I made a flippant comment to a friend this morning that I hoped Cester died after this, not because I wish him any ill-will or ill-health, but just so that fuckwit publicist felt appropriately shit for the rest of his life.

Hope he's okay x2.

Is that a sick bucket onstage, next to the pedal case?

k2  said about 2 years ago:

did he bland himself to death?

So rather than collapse he just sat down for a quick breather?

No doubt overwhelmed by the brilliance of Jet's forthcoming third LP Chaka Rock and its behemoth single 'She's A Genius'

He looks thoughtful or contemplative, as befits a man who once asked ''who is this fucking old cunt'' regarding Gilberto Gil.

Perhaps he is pondering how this incident will be reported on Mess and Noise.

It's actually a Moog stonic oscillator, Block. It captures frequencies from the 'otherwise lost' band and converts them into Stones' riffs.

It's a worrying development. All the colour has drained from his jeans.

Lol. whats the sory behind this?

I hope that Nic recovers fully and quickly.

Low blood pressure? It's doesn't take a cardiologist to know that enormous amounts of cocaine often result in cardiovascular problems.

Possibly too much self-releasing?

Lol. whats the sory behind this?

Heh, it wasn't to his face - he was being interviewed by Mojo or something and asked the question when he heard Gilberto Gil playing before Jet at a festival.

his brother must have been concerned, so much so he looks like he is still hitting his ride cymbal

cleanyoungmess  said about 2 years ago:

i've never been to the one in London, but if their Hard Rock cafe gigs are anything like the Gold Coast - it's not really the most labour intense gig going round...

''I said are you gonna be my girl?''

''Table 3 you're meals are ready. Thanks for coming out folks, try the veal, we're Jet''

Get well soon Nic!

I hope Mr Cester gets well soon. Musically we might cut poppies, but he's not well. I hope he's ok.

(ps. I hope I don't infuriate anybody to retaliate to my comment, that was not my intent)
