Augie To March No More?

Related: Augie March.
Augie March are currently mid-way through a six-week lap of the country with the Drones’ Gareth Liddiard and Dan Luscombe. But according to an interestingly worded (read: vague) press release from their record label Sony Music, it could very well be their last.
“The final show of this tour, and therefore the band’s final headline show for a long, long time quite appropriately takes place at Melbourne’s storied Forum Theatre. A grand end to Augie’s weird and wonderful 13-year adventure.
“The Forum show,” the presser continues, “will be a special opportunity for fans and band to say thanks for the memes and experience many of the great songs from Augie’s rich four-album canon in full nine-piece band glory.”
Whether the band are taking a well-earned break or calling it a day, it’s hard to tell. On the other hand, it could be a shameless grab for last-minute tickets akin to those dodgy retailers who leave a “Closing Down Sale” sign on their window for five years, or John Farnham and his never-ending “final” tour.
In other Augie March-related news, singer-songwriter Glenn Richards has recorded a song for the new Neil Finn collaboration The Sun Came Out. The double album is the follow-up to the 7 Worlds Collide project.
“Final” tour dates here.

I hope not.
i hope so.
hmm I guess that farm needs looking after.
interviews suggest that they're are having a break, and are undecided about what they want to do after that.
don't worry, filterfeed, glenn richards will do a solo album.
I hate the expression ''Thanks for the memes''.
They're just ripping off Mercy Arms.
i reckon hillsonghoods is on the money
he's clearing his diary and waiting by the phone for the next white album tour.
That sea captain looks tired of the farming life. Probably keen to get back to the cabin boy.
I saw them in Brisbane earlier this tour. Was lovely to hear The Moth Ball, amongst other old things I used to see them play back in the day. Ahh, nostalgia. Only two songs from the current album when I saw them.
need more hits to survive.
that's a given.
my favourite theory, as espoused to me by an augie member at the troughs of the townie at 2am, is that glenn will make his solo album, getting entirely his own way as how it sounds, still be unhappy, and want to go back to the creative arguments of the band.
I'd be sadder about this but I haven't been to an Augie show in years.
major label fuckwits
I reckon that it's all just a way for Augie March to.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I think they'll one day get back together and play some shows but I don't see anymore albums coming out. Their last Sydney show was great. And they didn't play Train :)
