Related: Kes, Kes Band.

Because a beer-drenched pub isn’t really synonymous with cerebral all-instrumental art-rock, Kes Band will launch their new album Kes Band II at the Arts Centre in their native Melbourne.

The all-ages launch – at the Arts Centre’s Fairfax Studio on August 22 – will feature an all-star cast of players including Kes, Laura Jean, Lehmann Smith and Julian Patterson plus a specially assembled lineup of guests from Melbourne’s music scene. Supports on the night will be Anthony Pateras and Robbie Avenaim plus Free Choice Duo featuring Jarrod Zlatic from Fabulous Diamonds.

Tickets are $17 with the new Kes Band II disc on sale for $15.
