FourPlay Fourthcoming With New Album

Related: Fourplay.
Fourplay, the nation’s only indie rock quartet string quartet, have released a new record. Continuing their tradition of taking album names less than seriously (which started with 2000’s The Joy of …) Fourplay have settled on Fourthcoming for their new record. The title reflects the prolonged genesis and eventual release of the record, which was originally devised in 2006 in Tasmania.
Continuing the band’s tradition of choice indie rock covers, Fourthcoming sees tracks from Leonard Cohen, Sufjan Stevens, The Cocteau Twins and Rage Against The Machine (ok, we need to hear this) transposed and transformed by the string quartet. Think you’ve heard it all before ? Fourthcoming is an entirely different beast for Fourplay, finally being recorded live at Canberra’s Street Theatre over three performances. The band are touring the new record all through July and August.
Fourthcoming is out now via MGM.

I'm always screaming that out when you're around, raven.
that bulli venue is pretty nice. well worth a trip down.
So what's the Brisbane festival all about?
Up to your usual high standards, a_h. I'm proud.
Um... Huh? Dunno, it's a gig, at a nice theatre venue.
i've seen them. they're real good.
You've even seen us do that RATM cover, sister :P
i still say it'd be better if Lara sang it.
Well, so now we have the second-greatest song of all time, as voted by Triple J voters. Surely that counts for something?
