The Scare Single ‘Could Be Bad’

Sydney's The Scare are nothing if not provocative. Album artwork featuring naked, female knights, live shows featuring wild gesticulations and stage antics and, now, recruiting Silverchair/Dissociatives frontman Daniel Johns to produce their new album. Can’t handle all this craziness?? Steady yourself, music lovers. The name of their new single? ‘Could Be Bad’.
Either witty nose-thumbing or ominous prophecy, ‘Could Be Bad’ will be the second single from The Scare’s new record, Oozevoodoo. If they’ve achieved anything, they’ve clearly taken the concept of actually caring about naming songs and albums to a new low.
‘Could Be Bad’ will be ‘impacting at radio’ this week. Oozevoodoo is ‘landing’ on August 7. The M+N air raid shelter is full, in case you were wondering.
Having just finished a national tour with Wolf & Cub, The Scare will play an upcoming Triple J party, before readying themselves to tour the country again in September with Children Collide.

They haven't quite finished the tour w/ Wolf & Cub yet. Playing shows in Perth this weekend. I will not be in attendance.
There's a blunt review, IIRC, of their last album somewhere on this site.
Yeah, I remember that.
I miss Troy D Colvin's writing. Someone bring him back!
My, I'd forgotten how blunt it was.
Wow, that is blunt.
Troy was a strong voice, who did some great work for M+N, but getting copy out of him was a total blood from a stone situation.
I think I got sent a download of this. Or maybe it was the Smoke?
Whatever, it wasn't very good.
GREAT STORY.
No! But everything Daniel Johns touches turns to gold.
Because he's a musical genius, or so I've been told.
I say more stories from Mr. Block.
Are you fucking kidding me, Block ?
Did your ears not get raped by the wonderfully cynical 'No Money' released just as the world economy was imploding as some kind of anthem earlier this year ?
This is fucking genius compared to that pile of steaming turd.
Blunt indeed!
that line cracked me up. i like it.
I don't recall, Dudikoff.
I don't pay a lot of attention to those things.
Salami today ?
No, but thanks for asking.
GREAT RECORD
FUN DUDES
WILL ENDORSE THIS PRODUCT AND/OR SERVICE
I live to give.
Poor The Scare. No love!
What sort of music do the Scare play in mid-2009? I have watched them leap from bandwagon to bandwagon since their origins as a fashionista screamo band a few years ago, but I haven't really been keeping up recently. Judging from the band photo up the top, they're probably now doing some sort of swamp rock murder ballads, but at this point I would not really be surprised if they were doing gangsta rap or progressive psy-trance.
Cheers Craig!
