Tour/New Single For Gaslight Radio

Survivors, stalwarts – whichever way you want to describe them, Brisbane refugees Gaslight Radio are pushing on, with a new single and tour for July.
The vinyl single, ‘Guillotine Sun’, is another slice of classic scuzzy indie-pop from the band and is being paired with B-side ‘Hallway Bed’. The single will be released through new Melbourne label Departed Sounds.
As if making up for the lost years earlier in the decade, Gaslight Radio have had a comparative flurry of activity of late. Despite a history of erratic behaviour, they’ve scored some positive reviews, with this guy particularly taken by them.
The short tour for ‘Guillotine Sun’ sees the band play shows on consecutive weekends in Sydney and Melbourne to round out July. Never seen one of Australia’s most underrated, brilliant bands? Never seen a guitarist play with his back to the audience for the whole show? Either way, July gives you a couple of chances to catch them in action.

YAY! this is going to be good. supported by witch hats in melbourne apparently.
Gold Coast refugees, technically.
My god, filterfeed has found something she likes.
Anyone heard the single?
I'll probably make the NSC show.
i like plenty of things, block. just not you.
Yup, Witch Hats will be supporting them... Oh, Amaya Laucirica will play a tidy acoustic set too (Mel only)...

Awesome! missed the last show
why would you be happy that you missed the last show?
you must hate this band!
there's an exclamation and a space after awesome, you dolt
so im guessing this is actually Friday at the NSC? or is it Saturday the 1st?
sorry, i'm in a stupid mood today!
no worries! gig is FRIDAY July 31 at the NSC, as per their myspace
just today, shaun?
why does the guitar player have his back to the audience? anyone know?
does this really upset people that much? it's not like they're all doing it... the dude probably just likes facing the drummer/has a bit of stage fright. i like to do the former, and occasionally don't feel like facing audiences... especially when they seem a little uninviting or 'stiff'
also, i reckon there should be no stages at these small gigs and people should spend less time staring at guitarists and more time dancing
no stage?
these guys were great last night...I decided not to get too disappointed with the turn out and make the most of the space by dancing with total abandon to 'Tina from Robina'. It was probably a shameful display, but I'm not ashamed.
Guitarist stood side on, bass player turned his back at this one...pity, because I dig his bass lines
just asking, SpringRain.
Good work, dude. I wish it weren't such a rare thing. No one looks like a fool if they're genuinely having fun.
Spelled13 - yeah, cool. It's just that practically everything I've read about their shows makes note of this, and I find it surprising that people care.
psyched for Friday
me too. have to find some friends to drag along.
Same. Pity the only person I know in Melbz who knows them hates Witch Hats more than anythin
We're on 1st though.
Easy to miss.

I don't wanna miss you guys but! Maybe I can just get my pal to turn up later or somethin
