Melbourne Indies ‘Hold Hands’

Some of Melbourne’s finest labels will band together for “Hold Hands!”, a celebration of the city’s independent music scene next month.

Chapter Music, Lost & Lonesome, Mistletone, Remote Control/Dot Dash, Sensory Projects, Two Bright Lakes and Unstable Ape will unite for the day-long event at The Tote in Collingwood on July 26. Bands performing include Beaches, Black Cab, Children of the Wave, Spider Vomit, Kes Band, St Helens, The Sand Pebbles and Kid Sam. Full line-up below.

Prompted by FBi’s recent financial troubles, proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to community radio stations across Melbourne and Sydney. CDs, vinyl and merch from each label will also be available throughout the day.

Tickets available from The Tote box office.

I thought Beaches weren't playing for a while? Seems they've played a few shows lately.
Not that I'm complaining, except about living in Sydney.

Great lineup and a very good cause. I wonder how the proceeds will be divided up, it sounds like FBi could certainly use the money.

You could always go to this instead - it's another benefit, but this one the money is going to local bands not sydney radio stations :)

This Sunday 26th the old will hold a special fundraising Beersoaked Sunday to get a few local bands overseas to play at a Taiwan festival. The Stabs, Cuba Is Japan and The Holy Soul will be joining this months residency band Sailors & Swine to perform one last time before they all head off overseas and cause some sort of international shitfight. It's an early gig with doors on at 6pm, it'll cost you $10 to get in and there's $10 jugs all day and night. Enjoy.

Times:

The Stabs: 10:00pm - 10:40pm

Cuba Is Japan: 9:00pm - 9:40pm

Sailors & Swine: 8:00pm - 8:40pm

The Holy Soul: 7:00pm - 7:40pm

Doors on: 6pm
