Snowman may have relocated to London last year, but that doesn’t mean they’re holed up in some dodgy sharehouse in Hackney playing tiddlywinks with HTRK and Temper Trap while Conrad Standish grooms his moustache in the corner.
The Perth expats are currently touring the UK with The Drones ahead of a solo tour through France (dates TBA). Not only that, but they’re “furiously” writing album number three, the follow-up to last year’s acclaimed The Horse, The Rat and The Swan. But despite its roots in rainy London, don’t expect the homesick strains and vivid sense of place of Born Sandy Devotional.
“It is sounding like ‘somewhere else’ again,” wrote Joe McKee in a letter to fans. “We have a title that seems to be sticking. We may reveal that in the near future. It seems to be guiding the sound of the songs.”
In other news, the band recently had their first brush with a narcoleptic punter at a recent show with LA noisemongers Health.
“We thought we may have killed an audience member at one point,” recalls McKee. “He just wouldn't wake up ... but then he did. I don't think anybody has fallen asleep to our music before that guy.”
