Dappled Cities will take their new album Zounds cross-country in August. Their 14-date tour will begin in Melbourne’s "cultural" hub Frankston, shuffle through Victoria, Tassie, NSW, SA and Queensland, and wind up at Freo’s Norfolk Basement on September 5.
The album – Dappled’s first in three years – was recorded by Chris Coady (TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Scott Horscroft (Sleepy Jackson, silverchair). In addition to playing songs from Zounds, Dappled will be performing live favourites from the AMP-nominated Granddance (2006) and debut A Smile (2004).
Supports by Philadelphia Grand Jury and Yacht Club DJs.

corner huh? they sound famous.
I believe this tour is co-presented by Video Hits, which makes for the usual Dappled mix of bizarre and hilarious.
When and why did they drop the Fly?
Fly > No Fly
agreed.
Need and open bracket after Chris Coady
Anyone go to the listening party last night? Looked amazing!
Boudist pics
CM and I are off tonight. Am a bit perplexed by what exactly to do at a listening party.
Will there be a sink with dirty dishes so I can wash up and debut the record ? That's generally how most first home listens start for me.
Yours sincerely,
Confused.
Yeah, I wonder how these work too. Are people really quiet and attentive or is it just an opportunity to shmooze?
Have a look at those photos. Last night they had a listening party at kennards. They dedicated a container to each song, which would play repeatedly within that space. Along with that, they invited artists to decorate a container each any way they pleased. Hence the photos.
Looks wonderful to me.
That's pretty cool, though probably unusual.
It's a great idea - still not sure how it will work, though.
But it does look like we're in for a good evening.
