New LP For Batrider

With apologies to Rusty Crowe and Crowded House, our favourite New Zealand expats Batrider will release a new LP later this month. The follow-up to their Australian debut Tara, Why We Can’t Be Together will be released on Low Transit Industries on June 27.

After relocating to Melbourne, Batrider soon found themselves in Adelaide, where they added Stephanie Crase, formerly of Birth Glow and No Through Road, on guitar. Now based in London, the four-piece will spend the remainder of 2009 on the road, touring Europe and the US.

As for how the new album sounds? The band are reportedly “not exactly how you remember”.

Tracklisting:

Womble
Homie Gnomie
Toilet Song
Ha Ha
Psycho
Can’t Keep Up
Why Can’t We Be Together
Step N Slide
Tiadn
Bluesy
Let Me In To Down Below
I’ve Loved You Forever

Sam was their manager at 1st.

MattuS  said about 2 years ago:

So wait, Sam, their manager is now in the band? So it's just the singer?

I don't think so, last I heard he was perhaps in Italy or Spain or somewhere completely different doing design work.

email  said about 2 years ago:

Interviewing them tomorrow.... Anything I should know/ask?

King_Rat  said about 2 years ago:

Ask them about Scar, how awesome a house guest I was. Touring with friends who aren't in the band and suicide girls.

email  said about 2 years ago:

Suicide girls?

King_Rat  said about 2 years ago:

They had a suicide girl housemate with a rat. I fed it Jagermeister one night and it walked around for a while looking a bit fucked. She was a fucking nightmare.

King_Rat  said about 2 years ago:

I'm not in batrider. Ask them.

email  said about 2 years ago:

Should I call you King_Rat?

King_Rat  said about 2 years ago:

Hmm, I have a feeling they would know who it was. Or Marcus.

Go with King Rat though, we'll see how quickly they cotton on. Seconds. Seconds.

I know they like to drink at Amy Winehouse's local. Toured a bit lately. Oh and ask if Sarah is still playing her mid nineties cassette's on tour....everclear.

...

King_Rat  said about 2 years ago:

Oh and you might be able to clear this one up for us. We shared a cabin with them at Camp a low hum last year and after they left/we drove them out we found a used condom on the floor. We never figured that one out. Just assumed.

email  said about 2 years ago:

Ha!

I reckon they're going to freak out if I ask them all this.

''WHO ARE YOU AND HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW ABOUT OUR PERSONAL LIVES?!''

King_Rat  said about 2 years ago:

Ah it'll all come back in my direction anyway. They'll enjoy it. Campaign for a birth glow comeback.

email  said about 2 years ago:

Thanks for your help!

dogsvscats  said about 2 years ago:

they're playing in LA with birth glow in oct or nov? true story

King_Rat  said about 2 years ago:

oh suck my tits.

That's good news though.

Their US tour starts in 27 days. I only know this because I was watching a too and fro facebook thing.

Then they're coming this way. Looking forward to it.
