Augie, Drones Duo Team Up

After touring the balls out of album number four, Watch Me Disappear, Augie March will delve deeper into their back catalogue when they head off on a national tour in July-August.

The “Watch Me Set My Strange Sun You Bloody Choir” tour – their last of 2009 – promises to be a trip down memory lane for fans with all four albums getting an equal showing. They’re also bringing some old friends along for the ride: Gareth Liddiard and Dan Luscombe, who are currently winding up a national tour with The Drones. The pair will perform in stripped-back acoustic mode.

Apart from the odd festival, this will be the last chance to see Augie March live before they take a well-earned breather. In their time off there may well be a solo album or two and some time given to projects in “film, photography, claymation and other interests”.

I'm surprised they've lasted this long.

I haven't yet seen them on this tour, looking forward to this.

It brings on many changes,
And I can take or leave it if I please

Look at that photo. Why is a nightclub bouncer standing second from the right?

Is that guy Augie March's bodyguard? Are they that popular amongst thirtysomething arts students and Saul Bellow fans?
