Mercy Arms Live Again

After months of speculation – a recent snippet on the Loog Records website seemingly sounded the death knell – Mercy Arms have confirmed that they have not split up.
Guitarist Kirin J Callinan explained the situation to Mess+Noise today: “The situation with Mercy Arms is very simple. We finished the BDO tour and have all now been busy with other endeavors, musical and otherwise. Like all good bands, we are somewhat dysfunctional and things can often be tense. While I personally haven't seen Thom since then, Ash, Julian and myself have all been making music together and collaborating on various other projects.”
Callinan said that he contacted James Oldham, former editor of NME and founder of Loog Records, to remove the offending news piece. It’s since been taken down from the label’s website.
“I would hope that there will be another MA record,” he added. “And if there isn't, that's fine! However we feel no need to close the door on the future of the band, no matter how combustible or capricious. These things can be good.”
Case closed. But what in god’s name are we going to report on now?

Good. They are the best guitar-pop band in Australia, in my humble opinion.
Which Timewaster do I listen too for all my finger-on-the-pulse news?
I love this saga.
Ive never even heard this band.
Boring modern music. Nothing good or exciting or cult about them although Kieran is a very nice fellow.
Yeah...well, Ash, Jules and Thom (the other 3/4 of mercy arms) all told me that the band was properly broken up.
Thom's getting his new band together now. I'll be surprised to see another Mercy Arms record.
NOT TR00 KVLT ENOUGH
I'm confused, is James Oldham, Andrew Loog Oldham's son? I guess so it makes sense.
Ha.
He wishes.
Yes James is ALO's son and named the label after his father.
grogblog's picture sums this story up for me
awesome news
No.
James Oldham is not Andrew Loog Oldham's son.
The name is a homage, but there's no relation.
