Barely a peep has been heard out of The Panics of late, but that doesn’t mean the Melbourne via Perth outfit have been idle.
Housed together in Manchester for the past few months, The Panics have been writing new material for their next album, the follow-up to 2007’s Cruel Guards. The band have commenced demoing at Blue Print Studios in Manchester, the place where Elbow recorded their Mercury Award- winning album The Seldom Seen Kid.
The Panics have also signed a co-management deal for the US and UK with Morsecode Management. They will hit the road with Scottish crooner Paulo Nutini, before heading off on their own national headline tour of Old Blighty.
Meanwhile, ‘Cruel Guards’, which won an ARIA for Best Adult Contemporary Album despite no guest sax from Kenny G, will be released on June 1 through Publica Records. Lead single ‘Don’t Fight It’ has been added to high rotation and was Single of The Week on XFM.

is 'single of the week on xfm' a big deal? it sounds like it'd be a big deal.
so yay, go panics.
Imagine what they could achieve in adult contemporary if Kenny G did guest on the new album!
